  1. Alt Num Codes ASCII for non-printable characters not working

After re-installing Windows 11, the alt codes are not working for non-printable characters. Any normal character works fine, but the non-printable control characters do not. I can type Alt+050 and a 2 shows up. Alt+070 types a F. However, Alt+030 results in nothing. I have an application that shows non-printable control characters and I can copy and paste them just fine, but I used to be able to type them in quickly before re-installing Windows.

  2. ALT key ASCII code

There is no ASCII character associated with the Alt key. Search for information on keyboard scan codes. The Alt key modifies the scan code before any mapping of scan codes to character codes is done.

    Hello Nikki,

Thank you for your response. Apologies for the confusion. If you are referring to the alt code then it is Alt + 227 or Alt + 982 / Ascii is Dec = 167, Hex = A7 / Unicode is U+03D6

The character you have provided is technically a pi and there are no other or alternative ascii code to produce this specific character as I have mentioned above.
