Windows 10: Alt-Prntscrn stopped working

After updating windows, my Alt-prntscrn stopped working. Win-prntscrn still works, and prntscrn still works, but I need to take a screenshot of the active window/monitor, not all the windows, and I need it to save automatically to a folder, without the need to paste it into a program.


why has this functionality stopped working after an update, and how can I fix it?

There are a few reasons why "Left Alt + Shift" is suddenly stopped working on your computer. Since you mentioned that you already tried some troubleshooting steps, we suggest that you create a
Test Profile. From there, check if the issue occurs.

To create a user profile, follow these steps:

• Go to Settings. Click Accounts.
• Select Family & other people.
• Select the Add someone else to this PC tab.
• Name the user as Test.
• Leave the password field blank.
• Hit Next.
• Sign in as Test user.

Step 1: You may check if the ALT key is functioning correctly in on-screen keyboard. It will help us to verify if there is any issue with the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to open On-screen Keyboard.

  Windows + Q, type OSK (on-screen keyboard)

  And check if it works
  

Step 2: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

alt-tab stopped working

It's possible to temporarily remap ALT and TAB keys (remap to little used or unused key) to check if the key is actually broken. If the remapped keys work then it's a keyboard problem. If the remapped keys do not work then the problem lies elsewhere.
