Windows 10: ALT symbols repeat after space bar

Work Around for Duplicating ALT-### symbols in MS Word. There is a known issue with ALT codes in MS Word such as ALT 0167 which causes the symbol to appear twice when you hit the next key e.g. spacebar. Windows Forums keep closing on this kissue but there is no real solution I could find. For me, it does not happen in Word online Office 365 or in other programs on PC such as Chrome. It only occurs in the desktop verison of Word. I primarily use the paragraph symbol ¶ and the section symbol §. There are were some workarounds I found, but I wanted simple since I use these symbol

E72 Space Bar with Function Key acts as Symbol

I now discover this only happens with Predictive Text turned off.

If Predictive Text is turned on then Symbol + Space Bar gives you a space.

Nokia support suggested Factory Reset - but this makes no difference.

 

Alt-Character Code is repeating after hitting the next keystroke - section symbols

I frequently use the alt-character code for the section symbol § (alt+0167). However, After I entered the code and hit another key (e.g., the space key) it automatically adds another § symbol. Why is that? How can I stop that?
