Windows 10: Alt-Tab and clicking on icon in taskbar not working as expected

Hi,For some reason, I'm seeing weird behavior with the taskbar and the Alt-Tab keyboard shortcut. I'm not sure what is causing it. Here are the symptoms:If I have more than one window open for an application, I cannot use the taskbar to go to one of the windows. I used to be able to click on the icon of the window, then all available running windows would appear over the taskbar. Then I could simply click one of the windows and it would maximize or I would switch to it. Now, if I hover the mouse over the icon, the running windows appear but if I click on one of them, nothing happens. Sometimes

Taskbar icons gone + alt tab doesn't work.

Hello Everyone,

I've recently encountered a situation in which none of my taskbar icons are displayed, I can't click the windows icon or task view in the bottom left and

Alt + Tab doesn't work either. Win + Tab used to work but now it doesn't. I attempted following this guide https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/139348-taskbar-will-not-work.html ,
though that didn't end up working. I attempted to include an image below though I can't seem to do that. Any help is appreciated.

Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
What do you think?

 

Alt-Tabbing Slow/Not Working

I've tried the above steps but unfortunately theissue persists.

Some additional details I should add:

When I press Alt + Tab and manually click on the window I want to go to, it will work.
When I press and hold Alt + Tab and tab through my window options and let go of tab once I have selected my window, that is when the issue will occur and the icon ill flash orange on my taskbar, the application wont open and nothing else happens.
