Windows 10: Alt-Tab showing orphaned/zombie tiles

I am having a hard time knowing how to even describe this. I have never had this problem before nor heard of it. I have already tried posting this to a Lightroom forum and a photography forum but with no success, other than people believing it is a Windows 11 issue.I am on a relatively new Windows desktop about three months old; custom built for me. I open LRC Lightroom Classic. If I hit Alt-Tab, I see one LRC tile, along with other tiles for File Explorer, Firefox Browser, etc. The LRC tile has a title bar of "Lightroom Catalog v13.3 - Adobe Photosho..." and shows an image of what was

Orphaned tiles after deployment

A little background.

We removed provisioned apps from our WIM file. We also have a GPO to disable the consumer experience to get rid of the rest of the unwanted non enterprise apps.

The WIM file is loaded into SCCM and deployed via task. Everything works fine.

Every user who logs now has orphaned live tiles on the start menu. The provisioned apps that were removed via DISM and powershell, their tiles will disappear after a reboot or 2 but they should not be there in the first place as the apps were removed in
an offline WIM.

Is there something in the WIM I need to do to remove the live tiles as well?

On the Consumer Experience GPO the apps tiles are stuck on the start menu you can manually unpin them but our users are really not that capable. I know it is a simple right click and unpin but this is a "prison run by the prisoners" environment so we have
to figure out how to clear this up with out getting them involved. Note that the icons are in the live tile area, the actual program/apps list they are gone. The tiles have a downward arrow like they are downloading and some say A great new app is coming.

Any suggestions would be helpful. We are testing Windows 10 1703 but the same exists in 1607

 

Alt-tab won't switch between two windows anymore

I really need to get back the alt-tab behavior that flips back and forth between two applilcations. I did all the things I found here and some from other web pages, but nothing will let me flip from MS Word to another app I am using and then back to MS Word. Alt-tab only shows me a list of applications and clicking alt-tab again takes me back to whatever I was on before. How can I make alt-tab flip back and forth between two applications with no steps in-between them? That ability to flip back and forth has worked for me on MS Windows for decades. Thanks. Ken - - - Updated - - - When I use alt-tab, and see all the open tabs, releasing tab and then pressing tab does nothing except take me back to the window I started with. Do I need to re-install Windows 10 solely to make alt-tab work correctly?

 

alt + tab not working

Just found a really cool way to make alt+tab INSTANT!!!

In the launch options write the following: -windowed -noborder





This play exactly the same as fullscreen but now you dont have to wait 30 f*@!ing seconds to alt+tab back in!

Also you don't get the little purple/black checkered effect (only in Source games) from alt+tabbing in fullscreen.
