Windows 10: ALT+TAB window previews are getting stuck

Hello,

I am on windows 10 and I have been for a while, but this has only just recently occurred in the last day.

Whenever I press ALT+TAB to switch windows, normally when I release the keys it will switch to the window highlighted, however recently when I release ALT+TAB it does not automatically switch it just gets stuck on the preview screen. I have to manually selected the tab with the arrow keys or my mouse to recover from it.

This is only intermittently though.

Things I have tried:
Restarting machine
Running virus scan (I am using Sophos Home)
Reinstalling keyboard driver

But the above things have not worked.

Please could someone help me resolve this please?

Windows 10 ALT+TAB Issue

Ive been having this issue all the way back when Windows 10 was still just tech preview, but it seems it made it through to live to.

When i alt+tab sometimes, there will be a window missing in the taks preview/overview. Somtimes its the window i had active when i press alt+tab, sometimes its just a random one, then i can alt+tab again and all is fine, but it happens quite frequently and
if you alt+tab alot during the day, it gets very annoying in the long run. Ive tried to search abit for posts about it, but cant really find much, i know a few of my friends have the same problem to.

Hope some one in here might know of a sollution

Alt-Tab in Windows 10

This was driving me a bit crazy as well. The "Easy Fix" caused me more problems as well and I reverted back using system restore. I finally went with the solution found here:

ALT+TAB - Use Classic Icons or Default Thumbnails - Windows 7 Help Forums

You do a registry change by creating a DWORD value of AltTabSettings at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

and giving it a value of 1 (one). This goes back to "classic" Alt+Tab settings.

I had gotten used to the the preview screens using Win 10 Alt+Tab and liked them. However, Alt+Tab+Tab wasn't working for me.

Have you had any solutions to this? I have been facing the same issue and not had a resolution in over a year.
