  1. Always different devices shows in Windows Recovery Mode "Use a devices" function

HiI installed the Ubuntu devices on my SD card with a USB adapter. Since some devices have a BIOS lock, I can't typically modify the BIOS Boot menu to boot from USB. So, I try using Windows Recovery Mode's "Use a device" function to boot from USB. However, I found that sometimes some device's names pop up or disappear.I connect 2 HDDs, 1 SSD installing Windows 11, 1 USB hub connecting the Mouse and Keyboard, connecting the LAN cable to the MotherBoard, and 1 USB Drive with installed Ubuntu. In this picture, I can see Ubuntu and My USB drive's full name, "Generic MassStorge..."I tried to restart

IF you cannot enter ADB then your drivers are not working. Download the proper drivers for the device and do adb.exe devices to see if it shows anything

  3. Windows sound issue: no playback devices, drivers good!

If you haven't yet, maybe try this:

Boot into safe mode and go into device manager. Right click on and uninstall each of the following (If present):
    Audio Codecs
    Legacy Audio Drivers
    Legacy Video Capture Drivers
    Media Control Devices
    Audio Controller
    Video Codecs
and anything else that my be listed under sound devices. Also click on "View", "Show hidden devices" and see if there are any exclamation marks. If so, uninstall them also and then reboot into normal mode. Windows should detect the devices and automatically reinstall them.

I'd try that before reinstalling just for grins. Reinstalling as you know is a pain in the a*s!*Smile Always different devices shows in Windows Recovery Mode "Use a devices" function :)

Always different devices shows in Windows Recovery Mode "Use a devices" function

[SOLVED] Windows 8.1 Not Detecting USB Devices

It is possible you may need to run VIAO update, after your upgrade to 8.1, to check for new drivers and patches.

Edit: Also, have you gone to device manager and check the item in the menu "show hidden devices".
See if their are any problems, uninstall any usb devices, and their associated listings in the other sections of the device manager that should not be there.

If need be... try GhostBuster to remove any ghosted devices you need/want gone.

You may need to do a refresh of Windows 8.1 as a last resort.
