Windows 10: am i safe now if it says threat blocked?

Hi as stupid as it may sound, i recently fell for the windows control r scam and I’ve only realized that it was suspicious when I completed the enter part. I quickly searched if that was a scam and yep.. it was. I read stuff about it and it started to make me anxious i restarted my laptop, and went to the windows security part. I saw the protection history and the scam was there and says threat blocked. Im an anxious person and I need reassurance about this. Is my laptop safe now? or do I need to take further actions.

Windows Defender is blocking too much saying it viruses

Hi Sam,

Based on the screenshot that you've provided, Controlled Folder Access is turned on, blocking most apps that you're using. We suggest that you turn it off to allow blocked apps in Windows Defender. Follow the steps below:

• Select Start > Settings.
• Choose Update & security > Windows Defender.
• Select Open Windows Defender Security Center.
• Select Virus & threat protection, and then choose Virus & threat protection settings.
• Under Controlled folder access, turn it on or off.
• Once done, try accessing the apps and see if you can now access them.

Blocking Images for a Safe Sender?

Too many steps to read it in the browser. In fact my default browser (Firefox) isn't even given as a choice. I don;t understand exactly why MSFT would not let us simply block images in an email. This might be a way for MSFT to force-migrate me to Edge, who knows.

 

In Windows Security what happens if you click on "Threat Blocked" ?

Generally Speaking, When you click on “Threat Blocked” in Windows Security, This indicates that Defender has blocked and removed a threat on your device. There's no action necessary on your part, though you might want to consider how the threat reached your machine so you can reduce the risk of that occurring again. Common ways a threat might arrive include as an unsafe attachment in email, downloaded from an unsafe web site, or via an infected USB storage device.

If you believe this to be a "false positive" and that the file is safe you can select Actions and then choose Allow. This threat has already been removed, so Allow only applies to the next time we see this file. You'll need to redownload the file if you want to use it, it will show you the details of the threat that was blocked and quarantined. You can then choose to remove the threat from your device if you want to.
