Am not able to type immediately on my calculator after opening it unless I click on it

I used to be able to press my calculator button on my wireless Dell keyboard and could immediately start pressing numbers and it would start typing. Now, whenever I click it, it won't let me start typing numbers on the app unless I click on it. So if I'm on a page and hit my calc button, and I start typing a number, it will type it onto the page I am currently on, instead of in the calc app I just opened. It just randomly started doing this. I have gone into the app settings to see if there was a default setting I could change it to but have had no luck/didn't see it anywhere. HELP! It's very

    :)

  2. Stock calculator app opens and closes immediately

WOW, such service.... such a quick reply. First, no need to apologize, it's not something you did. From searching at the community forum I notice what's happening with Calculator happens with other apps - they open then close immediately.

Yes, my inquiry was about the Calculator app, the one that's built into / comes with Windows 10. I updated to Windows 10 ver. 2004 the other day. Prior my updating, Calculator worked. Now it opens and all I get to see is a blue dialog and then it closes
    immediately.

so... your suggestion #1 "**Run the troubleshooter" .... did it, here's a screenshot of what came up

... your suggestion #2 "**Reset the Microsoft Store cache" did that and tried Calculator - blue dialog and then it closes immediately

... your suggestion #3 "Press Start then search Apps and Features ... Search Calculator app on the list .... Click then select Advanced options .... Click Terminate then Reset" did that and nothing - tried Calculator - blue dialog
    and then it closes immediately.

.... and here's a video of me trying to run Calculator after completing suggestions #1-3

I captured a video of trying to run Calculator. I can't attach it here but I'm uploading it to Firefox Send. Because I don't have an account there this link will only last one day or one download https://send.firefox.com/download/62fb9966137838d4/#2SxodDMEoCw__yMBYAU5lA

btw, I also downloaded another calculator app from the app store (see below).... Same thing, it opens and then closes immediately. I did the same with resetting it like in your suggestion #3.

I'm going to read a book right now so no need to reply until you feel like doing so.

Thank you very much for the quick response and suggestions. I'm sure this will all be resolved eventually.

Stock calculator app opens and closes immediately

    Hello NestorR_WPG,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I want to apologize if you encountered this issue. I understand you have a problem with Calculator. Did you mean the Calculator app?

    **Run the troubleshooter:

Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

    **Reset the Microsoft Store cache

Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

    Note

A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

Press Start then search Apps and Features

Search Calculator app on the list

    Click then select Advanced options

    Click Terminate then Reset

    Run the Calculator app again

If it doesn't work, Select Calculator App in Apps and Features then Click Uninstall

Open Microsoft Store then search for Calculator App

    Click Get and Install

    Launch again your Calculator

I hope this helps! Kindly inform me if my suggestions does not solve the problem. I can provide another solution for you to try.

    Sincerely

    Independent Advisor

calculator app disappears immediately after clicking on it - opens and disappears

Update your Windows to the latest version is the best way to solve the "Calculator app disappears immediately after clicking on it" issue. The steps for it is very simple and are as follows:

    1. Tap down the Windows key along with the letter I to open the Settings window.
    2. Now, from the available options select Update & Security.
    3. After that, select Windows Update from the left side panel and then click on Check for updates from the right-hand side window.
    4. Wait, until the process is over. If an update is available then follow the on-screen instructions to install.
