Over the last two weeks, AMD officially launched their 7th Generation Bristol Ridge processors as well as the new AM4 socket and related chipsets. The launch was somewhat muted, as the target for the initial launch is purely to the big system OEMs and system integrators, such as Lenovo, HP, Dell and others – for users wanting to build their own systems, ‘Product-in-Box’ units (called PIBs) for self-build systems will come at the end of the year.

  2. Adding widows 10 chipset drivers to an old computer.

    Hi Bob,

When upgrading a Windows 7-based computer to Windows 10, the computer should have a processor that is from any of the following generations:

    • Intel seventh (7th)-generation "Intel Core" processor or a later generation
    • AMD seventh (7th)-generation (“Bristol Ridge") processor or a later generation
    • Qualcomm “8996" processor or a later generation

Let us know if you need further information.

    Regards.

  3. When is the next Microsoft update for AMD drivers?gaming, and software,etc...???

to answer your question yes it does switch to my GPU the RX560.

when I use the laptop for non-game applications I use AMD system monitor to see what is being used during games and not games.

The R7 is not showing any use for web browsing or any non applications on desktop mode.

The latest AMD Bristol Ridge Chipset and Baffin Graphics driver is dated august 8th of this year.

    everything is up to date..

as for crash dump files I use who crashed utility to find the file for when the crash occurred and it comes up empty no crash report.

I am looking into who makes the "AMD Bristol Ridge Chipset and Baffin Graphics driver"

and I posted a question to a AMD specialist on their forums and am awaiting their reply.

I just have come up empty on how to find specific updates that Dell will get for my system and do not know how or when they will get the newer driver version from AMD obviously AMD makes this type of drivers and gives it to Dell, but as to when the next series
will be released for my update...I don't know.
