Windows 10: AMD Processor not supported by Windows 11

I have an HP laptop that came with Windows 10 and an AMD A4-9125 Radeon R3 processor. Not sure how old it actually is but I bought it in October 2020. When I tried to update to Windows 11 it says 'this PC doesn't currently meet minimum requirements' but doesn't specify which requirement. I took it back to the shop I bought it at and they said it was the processor that doesn't meet the requirement. Is there a way to update/upgrade the processor so that it is compatible with/supported by Windows 11?

Thanks--when I looked at the list the AMD CPUs hadn't been posted. At least some Athlons are on the list, which might make it simpler for you.

hmmm, my A10 Athlon isn't on the list so I'll have to upgrade processor and motherboard on two PC's. *Tongue

 

Windows 11 confusion

It's not actually saying that your processor isn't 64 bit, it's saying it isn't on the list of supported processors. For Intel that currently means only 8th gen or newer, and it's simillarly restricted for AMD. The list may include some more of the older processors by the time Win11 is released.
