    AMD Radeon 520 creating BSODs

I bought the laptop recently(model - HP-15-bs658tx) with AMD graphics switchable.

it was running fine until the 1803 update.

I was provided various bsods (SS of Windows BSOD + HP Diagnostic Tests).

after running through google and microsoft, i discovered that it was driver failure of AMD.

If i delete the driver completely, i'm not having any bsods. but this leads to heating up of laptop and high draining of battery.

if I install the driver, though I was provided with BSODs and black screen refreshing, its maintaining CPU temperature and Battery health.

I have updated my system to 1809, yet same issue.

I have tried to install via windows update, device manager- both automatic and manual way and downloading and installing via hp official driver(all in the graphics section of HP site) and AMD auto detect and install method... all are providing same result.

I have tried to provide the dmp using the exe in this site.
    1. without non-Microsoft services and AMD driver.
    2. with all services but without AMD driver.
    3. with everything.

right now typing in the same system but it may happen any time just watching videos or playing games.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. AMD Radeon 520 creating bsod

I own hp15-bs658tx laptop... I have installed windows 10 pro clean flashed 1803 build... I have installed all drivers using windows driver following the bsod fix in this site...

But the problem is still there... I have installed from manufacturer's site and laptop manufacturer's site as well but of no use...

And each time bsod is different... Memory management error, video tx failure, sys failure, kernel dump and many more... And I couldn't even use the device for just browsing... ;(

I have followed other sites to fix but sys/ scannow isn't working as well as it's leading to another bsod...

Only fix i found till date is just uninstall the whole AMD Radeon 520 graphics card using AMD cleanup utility from AMD... And it's working like charm...

Buy then also, it's creating a heavy impact on gaming and PC using... The device is lagging and heating too much.... I'm worried...

If there's any workaround, please help... The laptop is just 6 month old... And i don't want to lose it...

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi SnakyStingray85,

For now, we recommend rebooting your computer in Safe Mode to return Windows 10 to a basic state. It can help you to allow troubleshooting most issues on your computer. Since you can still
boot your computer and play games, you can also reboot in Safe Mode. To do this, you can visit this link: Start
your PC in safe mode in Windows 10
and look for steps under the “From the sign-in screen” section.

When you successfully performed a Safe Mode, your next step is to clear the bad applications that can potentially cause issues listed on your System Configuration. This method is called Clean Boot.
Visit this link: How to perform a clean boot in Windows to know
    how to do this.

Watch this video to know how to perform Clean Boot:

Once done, please go through the section: “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

What is this command your pertaining? - sys/ scannow

Is this a System File Checker launching command or not?

Otherwise, you can continue troubleshooting after performing Clean Boot. The next step that you can do is to run the built-in system utility tool called System File Checker. It that helps users to perform scanning,
repairing, and restoring of missing or corrupted system files of a computer. You can visit this link: Use
the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
to know how to run this tool.

Once done and if there are findings, perform the following so we will get the details of your CBS log files.

    1. Press Windows + X.
    2. Click Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    3. Type the following: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
      >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
    4. Open a web browser and upload this text file to your OneDrive account.
    5. Once uploaded, right-click the file and click Share.
    6. Click Get a link and Copy it.
    7. Paste it in your next response.

In this way, we will be able to check your system files if they are corrupted or not.

Last resort: If your device/computer's performance cannot be resolved by performing software troubleshooting, it means that there’s a hardware issue on your computer
like in motherboard, hard disk, CPU, GPU, etc. We recommend contacting your computer manufacturer’s technician (which is HP) and graphics card manufacturer (AMD) to request for an on-site repair/assistance and
let them perform a hardware diagnostic to your computer.

Please respond to this thread to let me know how the issue progresses. Similarly, if you have more questions, please inform me by replying to this post.
