  1. AMD software detected that a driver timeout has occurred.

I am trying to play fortnite and the computer keeps crashing midgame. I have had multiple blue screens however many times the game just crashes to windows. other times screen goes black and sound gets messed up. I need to restart to get it back working. I have tried many online solutions. I have suspected the graphics card so i tried it in another system and it worked without issue.System info + Blue screens have been attachedhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1sHECW1MAIUh-e6wXZ66-bpp3aUI57J26/view?usp=sharing

  2. AMD Software Detected that a Driver timeout has occurred - AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Help!

    Hello,

    I have a Ryzen 5, The ram I use is TeamGroup Vulcan Z DDR4 3200Hz my motherboard is an ASUS prime b550-plus, 1 - 500GB W_D black SSD and a 1TB SSD, 1000W PSU with a Radeon RX 7900 XTX.

I've just upgraded from a Radeon RX 6500 XT, I also upgraded my SSD and PSU.

when upgrading my build, I had no problems other than my PSU being 750W and the minimum was 800W so it would not boot but upgraded to a 1000W and no issues, now first when I booted, I immediately downloaded the latest drivers which would the only problem I have.

Fast forward a couple days later I've been playing like regular then out of nowhere my game freezes for at least 5 Secs, Then I'm hit with an AMD software detected that a driver timeout has occurred, I've had tried to fix the issue by doing

    • Disable MPO.
    • Reset Cache.
    • Disable all AMD services, Radeon super res, anti-lag etc...
    • Increase GPU timeout. (Made it worse by freezing my whole pc)
    • DDU Multiple times.
    • Trying older drives.
    • playing games on DX11.
    • Disable hardware acceleration.
    • Download Driver 23.8.1. (Came out today)
There's many more I could name but had done a while ago, but none work.

Game that mostly crash are (most of these are from pc game pass)

    • Back 4 Blood
    • Call of Duty MWII
    • GTA V (but actually fixed it)
    • Death Loop
    • Hitman 3
    • Unity Games
    Games that don't crash are.

    • Fortnite
    • Minecraft
    • Halo Infinite
I haven't really gotten to try more games since I can't play most of my own already, Mostly I have also been playing VR Games to pass time and have fun, No issues.

let me know if there is maybe a hardware issue, also I don't overclock or undervolt,

Please Help I've been thinking of just switching to Nvidia, but I've been trying too hard to use this 7900 XTX for so long, graphics are amazing though.

    Thanks,

  3. AMD Software Detected that a Driver timeout has occurred - AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Help!

    Hello KidNamed_Ace.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Regarding to your information I assume that your graphic driver always crash.

It seems that AMD graphics card driver crashes seem to be a common issue. You can find many users on the AMD forum who have reported this

problem and as a former user of the 5700XT graphics card, I often encountered driver crashes while using this card.

It seems that you have done almost all troubleshooting steps that an user can do.

Make sure that your Bios and motherboard driver is latest version.

Maybe you can try to set the memory as low frequency and try it again. (Don't use the XMP profile or other profile manufactor provide to you,

use the basic frequency and try it again)

Try to disabled core performance boost in the Bios may also worth to try it.

If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.

You can also try to disconnect the network and boot as the Safe Mode after that uninstall the Graphic Driver and install it again, reboot your computer

try to play the game with offline mode and check whether it's crashed.

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support

If still crashed I think you can try to apply for after-sales service, as this may be related to a hardware defect in your graphics card.

Or you can contact the AMD for further help of this issue.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    AMD Software

What is the make & model of your system?

From what you have given and the little research I did, this pertains to your situation:

Sign In to AMD Community - AMD Community

Essentially, you have an OLD chipset.

"NOTE: These APU products must be installed only using the display driver version available via Windows Update. If you have upgraded to Windows® 10, please DO NOT install the AMD Catalyst™ Driver.
Instead, enable Windows Update and allow it to detect and install the appropriate driver.

If you have already upgraded to Windows® 10 and installed the AMD Catalyst™ Driver, please follow the steps listed below to resolve this issu

    • Uninstall the AMD Catalyst™ Driver using the Program and Features option in the Control Pane
    • Reboot the system
    • Use Windows Update to install the appropriate graphics driver for the APU."
