Windows 10: AMD Win10-x64 PC- WindowsImageBackup wants to include a Data partition.

After doing a Win10-x64 (2004) clean install to a SSD drive (All other HDD upplugged during Win10 install), completed all Windows updates and Armoury Crate install. Checked that Device Manager was not missing any drivers etc. All looks good so I connected my 2 data HDD drives (D-H partitions). Restarted PC and then tried to create a System Image backup. (Control Panel => Backup and Restore => Create System Image). I progressed to the window that shows the System partitions that will be included in the ImageBackup and discovered that my D:MULTIMEDIA partition is included and not able to be de-selected. Shows as MULTIMEDIA (D (System). All my other partitions are shown and unchecked, but availabe if I wanted to include them in the ImageBackup. File History is set to Off.

I know I could run WBADMIN and use the -include syntax, but I want to find out why my D:MULTIMEDIA partition is marked as SYSTEM by default and fix it so it's not included as a System Image backup partition.

Any suggestions and fixes out there?

Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:





Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

Suggestions on how to fix this?

 

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Question about Win10 and partitions.



So I have a partition ready for Win10 but my question is will I still be able to access my other partitions once Win10 is installed? I keep hearing about the "recovery partition won't be able to be used" and I'm wondering if Win10 just doesn't play nice or if I'm good to go.
