Windows 10: An error message about attempting to open file of type 'System File' .dll

I wrote a Visual studio solution and then made an installed copy of it when I run the application this error appears every time. How can I fix it?

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

It seems there is a DLL file on your startup process in Windows, and we need to find that and remove it.

First, we need to know the name of the DLL file

When that pops up, choose to open that file with Wordpad from the list of apps.

Wait for that to open, you wont be able to read the file, it will be in machine code

At the top left of Wordpad, on the top bar, what is reported as the name of the DLL file?

For the past couple of days, I am getting an error message every time I switch on my Laptop. It says: "you are attempting to open a file of type 'system file' (.dll)".





I looked up the solution on Google and I came across this answer by Barb Bowman.





I did what she said but it didn't solve my issue. How do I diagnose and fix this problem? I have not seen any other problems, but I want to make sure this is not symptomatic of a deeper problem.

You are correct, that DLL is part of Jio Meet, if you do not use that, then uninstall it and see if that stops the error.

When the file downloads, unzip it.

Depending on your system, run Autoruns or Autoruns64 as Administrator

In the search box in Autoruns, type jiomeet and then right click and delete any entry found.
