    “An operating system wasn’t found” and deleting all files from laptop


    Hello,I have an old HP Pavilion g6 laptop from 9 years ago that I want to recycle. I started the process through Windows 10 of resetting the laptop and wiping all of my data from it. However, I received error messages during the reset process, so it never completed. I took a break from attempting to wipe the laptop, turned it back on, and received the message, “An operating system wasn’t found. Try disconnecting any drives that don’t contain an operating system. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.” Does this mean that all of my data is still on the laptop and can somehow be recovered?

    An operating system wasn´t found. I tried to make a new clean installation wich should delete everything but the installation couldn´t complete due to an error.

    My win10 installation did work badly. I tried to make a new clean installation wich should delete everything but the installation couldn´t complete due to an error.

    Looks to me that there´s no operatings systemon the disk and the disk is the only drive to select for boot order in BIOS.

    Have I lost my ASUS Eee PC 1225B?

    Do I have to install a new disk with the Windows 10 in the PC?
