Windows 10: "An unexpected error occurred" opening network properties

NIC: Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller

Ever since, the pc no longer accepts incoming connections.

Tried resetting network, uninstalling/reinstalling nic drivers, uninstalled VPN and other security software, safemode networking.

Other devices on the network cannot see the affected PC but it can see and connect to other PCs.


Trying to access the Network properties the following error pops up: "An unexpected error occurred".


Anyone having the same issue or know a fix. Since it been more than 10 days since the update, rollback is not an option.

When i try to open network properties, i get the message: unexpected error occurred, then the network connections window freezes.

Then check both symptoms.

 

Network connections/Properties=An Unexpected Error Occurred in Windows Vista

Hi.

In Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2, 32 bit, every time I try to access the Properties of a network connection (Control Panel \ Network and Internet \ Network Connections) with a right-click on "LAN Connection" ->
Status -> Property, nothing happens!

When I right-click on "LAN Connection" -> Properties, an "Unexpected error" message box appears and I can not proceed.

As a result, any setting of any network connection can no longer be changed: I wanted to change the fixed IP address of the LAN, but I can not

In addition to this, network connections work.

What could be the ways to solve the problem?

In support.microsoft.com there is a similar problem with the solution for Windows XP, but it does not work with Windows Vista
