Windows 10: An update is downloading over and over, and others can't even start!

I have just gotten my new pc but when I did a LOT of updates, now its stuck on a Conexant media update from 7/6/2018! There is no error message, just a loop on the update. I have a windows 11 pc with 21H2 and I can't even get the 22H2 update! which is not in the insider build program, I searched up a way to stop updates found out to do it by hiding them but in windows updates it just says there are NO UPDATES, and I'm just asking, HOW IN THE WORLD ARE THERE NO UPDATES FROM 2018????

Windows 10 update stuck at starting download

Following these steps are the most commonly successful fix to that issue:

1. Open an admin command prompt
   
2. Type net stop wuauserv
   
3. Type net stop bits
   
4. Delete this directory: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
   
5. Reboot. If you were unable to delete the directory in step 4 boot into safe mode and finish deletion there.
   
6. Boot into Windows and restart update.
   

If this does not work there are other methods to try that I can detail if needed. In summary these are:

1. Windows update troubleshooter ( occasionally works)
   
2. Run sfc /scannow as admin. Resolve identified issues if any, redo steps at top
   
3. Admit defeat, just download the ISO installer and manually kick off the update.
   
4. Admit defeat, format drive and install the exciting new Fedora 24 beta!

One question thou: you suggested me to Download the latest driver package from Nvidea. However, the link you posted is for the newly released GeForce GTX 760? Am I supposed to download the drivers for that card?

Sorry for my questions. As I said, I'm not an expert at all.

 

Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:

• New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
• CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
• Package change to Halide free package

Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.
