Discus and support an update stopped all windows 10 features , how do i fix this? in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; my laptop did an update the other day and now the start button, notifications ect dont work at all. i cannot access any of the win 10 apps eg...     an update stopped all windows 10 features , how do i fix this?


    my laptop did an update the other day and now the start button, notifications ect dont work at all.

    i cannot access any of the win 10 apps eg settings, groove, mail, cortana

    whenever i do attempt to open a win 10 program i get this.

    external programs like libre office and chrome still work; just windows ones have broken.

    Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

    Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

    FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

    Yeah, I've been noting it for months on the refusenik thread. They do NOT want anything older than 10 running.

    I still have an HTPC on W7, and every other month I have to fix the update agent in order to get all updates. SMH....

    You provided a good step by step fix. I've bookmarked it for future reference.
