Windows 10: An update within Windows Update causes White Screen of Death glitch.

Hello. Within the updates provided through the Windows Update architecture is an update that is causing my entire laptop to go at least 90-95% full white-screen. When it happens, I'm lucky to see enough to make out the "Search" on the taskbar, type "restore," then half-blindly make my way to a system restore point. I wouldn't be writing this issue if it weren't for 3 factors:1 the level of white-out of the screen makes it barely possible to run the system restore point;2 the running of the system restore point takes many minutes longer than the update takes to break the system;3 the proble

2. What is the exact error code/message you receive regarding the Blue Screen of death?

The Operating System is designed to automatically receive new updates by default. We recommend not to stop the updates, since the updates consists various security patches and latest driver updates which helps to keep the computer safe and secure. Windows
Updates will eventually need to be installed and downloaded, regardless of your update settings. However, you may temporarily pause updates from being downloaded and installed.

Windows 7 black screen of death

I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.
