Windows 10: Android app: Can you use any other video player to stream?

I'm streaming a lot of videos in my OneDrive cloud storage on Android, but the OneDrive video player kind of stinks no ffd/rewind, no background play, times out very quickly, etc and was wondering if there was a way to use something like VLC as the video player.I have installed VLC and I can "share" the video to VLC, but get an error from VLC of "No media files found" which I assume are because they files are in the cloud and being streamed. I don't want to download because they are large files. Anyone successful at using a different video player?

Remote app for android

I recently traded in my iphone for an android, and just realized that hippo remote is iphone only. I'm looking for a similar app for android so I can use it as a remote for my htpc. Any suggestions?
