Windows 10: Android Authenticator app fingerprint not working

I've got the Authenticator app installed on my Android phone and registerd my account.microsoft.com account. It works though slow and if I attempt to logon the three numbers appear and I can click the right one. After that the Android app asks for a fingerprint but that always fails to work. If I enter the pincode on my phone it does work.How do I remove the prompt for fingerprint on the Android Microsoft Authenticator app?

Microsoft Authenticator Android app and fingerprints

Hi, the past few days a notification kept popping up on my laptop, from Microsoft, saying I can use the Microsoft authenticator app on android to login via fingerprints.

Clicking on the notification send me to this page:

I downloaded the android app from the link, configured and verified the account. It's all set, all it do is giving me the eight digit code for pin authentication.

How I configure it, and windows, to authenticate via fingerprint scanner?

Some context:

- My Nexus 5X android Device has fingerprint scanner and I use it all the time for android.

- I tried configuring Windows Hello, but it say I don't have a compatible device attached to the PC, and sends me to a generic windows hello page.

- I found lot of info on internet for doing this exact thing using third party software. I don't want use third party software to authenticate on my laptop: I prefer to use password if that is the only option.
