  1. Android device recognised, but showing as unrecognised in Devices and printers

I have Windows 10 home. Whenever I have connected Android device with android version 8.0 and above, the device shows as my device name, but the mobile device icon is not present. When I have connected a device with Android 4.2, 4.4, 5.0, 6.0.1 all the devices gives a nice icon in file explorer, but devices with Android 8 and above does not show any icon. I can transfer files, do everything. Only problem is the device shows as unrecognised in Control Panel-> Devices and Printers. Please help.

    :)

    Printer showing as 'unspecified' device

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and my printer is showing in 'unspecified' devices and it is quite old so the driver isn't listed if I try to add a printer. Is there a way I can get the pc to recognise it as a printer?

  3. New Printer Not Showing in Devices & Printers (But Does Show in Device Manager)

Now I have no printers and Devices and Printers at all, not even a banner (but it still shows in Device Manager).

I have uninstalled all the new Brother printer driver & utilities programs (again) and rebooted (again). I also turned off MS XPS print services from Programs and Features, just in case. In Device Manager, I clicked ‘Show hidden devices’ and found
three instances of the old printer plus the old Prolific Parallel – USB adapter cable (now returned & refunded). All these were ghosted out but I uninstalled all of them anyway.

I checked ‘spooling’ in ‘Services’ and this is set to ‘Automatic’ (and is ‘Running’).
