Windows 10: Android hotspot to Windows 11 connection fail

I always was able to connect my Android hotspot to my laptop for connectivity when traveling. Did this for a year with no problem traveling to several countries. It however is suddenly giving me a "cannot connect" prompt on my laptop, even asking for the hotspot password again. I connect to my iPad using same method and use the android hotspot without any issues.I tried going through numerous web suggestions to fix the problem, to no avail. Also tried QR scanning, but it gives me a message WIFI:S:John RSC;T:WPA;P:lvia8992;H:false;;

Android hotspot, cannot connect to this network

1st post from complete novice.
I updated my Lenovo Yoga 730 to latest win10 1909 I think and now can't connect to my Android phone hotspot. I tried to connect to my wife's Android hotspot as well without luck.
All the solutions for "Cannot connect to this network" you on the Web require the removal of the network adapters to then a reboot to force a reinstall. My concern is they are not specific about what adaptor nor will it allow a new download.
Please help.

Just to clarify. I use the hotspot on my Android phone to access the internet. I do not have any other internet access. I this was working OK and now it does not. It coincides with the latest win10 update but may not be due to it. in
