    Android phones old and new not showing up in my Microsoft account.


    My previous Android Pixel phone 5a stopped working. I purchased a new Android Pixel phone 7 and setup with Google account information. I installed multiple Microsoft applications Edge, Outlook, Authenticator, etc. and logged into the Microsoft applications with my Microsoft account information. With the Microsoft Authenticator application, when attempting to recover my backup, I receive a notification that there is no backup associated with the Microsoft account! Please note that after first opening the Microsoft Authenticator application I immediately used the recover backup feature

    Unlink an old android phone from my pc

    I go thru the suggested steps: Start - Settings - Phone - Unlink this PC.

    When I first open the "your phone" screen the old phone is listed. Not sure if the phone listed is suppose to be selectable or not, but my is not. When I select "Unlink this PC" the phone listed is removed. When I select "Add Phone" the old phone still
    shows. I have removed the old phone from my Microsoft Account. I have rebooted after unlink this pc but I still cannot remove my old phone.

    How to replace old Microsoft Account with a new Microsoft Account

    Hi Hitendra,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I understand your concern and I am glad to assist you.

    I would suggest you to switch your Microsoft account to a Local account first and then switch back with a new Microsoft account. Please refer to the following steps:

    Step 1:

    • Type Manage your accounts
      in the search bar and click on it
    • Click on "sign in with a local account instead"
    • Press next and complete the process.
    • If you do not have a local account, leave the credentials blank and proceed.

    Step 2: Now, on the newly converted Local account, follow these steps to add a new MSA.

    1. In the Start search, type "Manage your accounts" and press Enter.

    2. Choose 'Accounts'.

    3. Click on "sign in with a local account instead"

    4. Enter the Microsoft account ID and Password and click Next.
