Windows 10: Anno 2070 crashes with Runtime Error!

Hi,

just as the title says the game crashes and what is weird from my point of view is that I've been playing for like 50+ hours the past week and it just came out of nowhere. I tried verifying the game files through Uplay, this isn't a Steam version of the game. I haven't yet reinstalled it because I wanna leave it as a last step, not that it's that unpleasent but hnng.





Above is the error, I had to record my screen because it flashed too fast past.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the error but I bought a new pair for memory sticks and I enabled XMP in BIOS but other than that I can't really say I've done anything fishy with my computer, I've also considered if my graphics card isn't good enough for my 1440p 144hz monitor but I haven't had any crashes in any other games.

KB3173428 & KB3172985 Font problems (Windows 10)

So yesterday Windows 10 updated - Now I'm seeing all kinds of weird stuff.

First, Photoshop can't load it's fonts.





Second, in some games, the font is much bigger than it was intended. Last night I was playing Anno 2070 and it looked fine. After the update however the text is just massive.

How do I fix this?

*Confused update*

It's not the actual game, it's only one specific saved game file that is causing the crash!

If someone else has got Anno 2070, I can send the file to see if it is the file or if the problem lies deeper!

 

Sounds like a corrupted save file.

I don't think it is happening with a new game?

 

But it's weird because it happens with older save files also, like the same mission but not the same time.

I reinstalled it today and applied the latest patch from Ubisoft. So I should download/update the two dlls?

 

The 2 dll's should be updated, if there is an update, when you update the game.

 

Well that is the thing, the update is like ~3 years old.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of hate towards Ubisoft.

Not that long ago, I think today some service pack for the Visual Studio 2008 Redist..

Just after that I replaced my ram and I enabled xmp in BIOS. I went from 4 sticks at 12GB to 2 sticks at 16GB.

Um first thought it was because I had hit 40 hours but nay I don't think so.
