Windows 10: Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14295 for PC and Mobile

Windows 10 started downloading the latest build and when it was at about 60% installed, I left the room to take care of a few things. When I came back, the computer appeared to be off. The screen was blank. I waited about 10 minutes but still nothing! I then pressed the power button bring it back. BTW, I have the Surface Pro 4. Anyways, "Surface" came on the screen like it normally does when it's starting up with "Preparing Automatic Repair" under it. A few seconds later "Diagnosing Your PC" replaced the previous message. I then got a screen that said "Automatic Repair". My choices were "Restart" or "Advanced options". So I clicked on advanced and then clicked on Troubleshoot. I don't recall exactly what the next options were but one of the choices was to restore the system clean. I decided to try this but then I got a message saying that my HD was locked!!

I assume that the update was still working when I pressed the power button, but I'm not positive. Unless someone has an idea for me, I will call MS tomorrow and have them help me re-install W10 clean. I hate to do this because I have several programs installed but I will if I must.

Don't worry, it's treated as removable in clean install too.
I have to install Intel drivers if I want it to not be listed as removable. *Huh

 

AMD 16.3.1 driver has installed OK..

Okay, some strenuous testing and tweaks for an hour or two, then, clean out all the 'drawers' and cut a nice clean image!

(Looks like it's gonna be taco's again tonight!)

 

COOL been out the crib about my business and 14295 is ready to get busy with the restart /install option in WU . probably been that way for a good while ☻

Just in case I copied the 14295 ESD installer to make a 14295 ISO with in case I have to get up off all that if the WU installer doesn't do it's business like it was on 14279 .


Going to get busy with all that in minute as soon as I run Disc Clean and move out the Windows OLD business to make room for the new Windows Old business or Old Windows business or whatever all that is !*sarc

Everything seems normal with 14295. About every other build, I get this in the All apps Other category.

Yea I think they sneak the turds in every other build and sometimes twice in a row *sarc

Rolled up Windows 14295 in here straight outta windows update no clean install and without the ESD > ISO business .


After it quit showing the the big circles and said Hi and went about it's business some more and lied to me about new and exciting things it seems at a glance to be working half OK even the start menu is all there for now and the windows SNIP Dog thing is working with 2 screens now ....

We'll see how all this comes down if it doesn't start tripping before I cop to anything more ! *sarc

Well..., a few hours later...,
all tweaked up,
I don't see anything new; but I don't see anything 'broken' either! *Smile

 

Thought I would grace this thread with. . .it works without a fault at the present time. . .from start to finish twenty minutes (timed it just for kicks). Nice when you are on a system that downloads at 200 mps. . .*Party

You need to learn to either do like Kari and use Sysprep before (ESD->ISO)Windows install, you can save the tweaks in a folder on OneDrive and just copy and past them, plus software will be added.

Or create a .bat or .vbs to run a reg file, and place that on OneDrive and just execute it when Windows install is finished, for registry settings.

 

The upgrade went on smooth as always for the remote pc while something seems to be stopping the 7 Pro Hyper-V VM from being able to connect to the internet. A few different switches and still nothing while the prompt to trust the new network connection will come up as usual.

Nothing else so far but still have the 10 Home and Pro VMs as well as the main build to consider. Still nothing on the main with the dual display problem yet to report for the last build.
