Windows 10: Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14342 for PC

When you go to the download page the link there shows 232 not 332 as it should for download of the previous build being the 332 and also you can find th 295 as well for the Enterprise and Education editions. I will be setting up the Education edition on VM to see if that will take the 7 Ultimate key for a look at that edition.

Presently the second upgrade to 342 is in restart while being recorded. The 7 VM first upgraded to the Threshold 2 build lost when forced to see a clean 328 install on the same vhd later seeing the 332 go on was rolled back to Version 1511 and now seeing the 342 going on all while being recorded to show how to roll things back to the previous build and then go after an evern newer one. No long wait this time around!

Should add here that following the update to the 342 the 10 text screensaver enabled on the 332 is back running now that the second remote pc saw this build go on and finish up Very Quickly!

 

Congratulations MS, I just got my first BSOD on W10 at restart !
Otherwise it behaved well.
Maybe I didn't notice before but Control panel has Windows to Go now.
Windows Defender is new version too,

 

Had a few Blues so far but only one per build! *Roflmao2 On anything "Developer" you would generally expect to see even more then what has been seen with 10 overall to date! Back with the 10240 I didn't run into any there! I just ran into missing Start buttons, AllApps not opening, and of course getting 10 to go on in the first place!

 

Is there any way to get the latest Edge version w/ proper extensions support (being able to install them from Store) without switching to Fast Ring? Would love to give Edge a proper try now! *Biggrin

I get more and more impressed with each new update. I like the improvements to extensions and I like the new Defender shield icon.

 

You have to take things with a grain of salt! Remember these are all "Developer" not general release type builds. And while both remaining bugs as well as new things are being brought in with each build Edge is still the new kid on the block as far as web browsers. Plus Edge is not available as a separate download as IE and other browsers presently only being seen "in 10"!

 

SFC /Scannow now works on my PC. Months I've had that windows protection error so I'm a happy bunny.

 

You can always load Insider preview in virtual machine *Smile. Just download previous build (14332) and update it to current version.

Only took 23 min from whoa to go (SSD). The install speed lately has really been impressive.

Good to see an ad blocker in Edge. Still wonder why we can't have individual bookmarks in the bar with no text. It is all with text or none. Weird decision.

Looks good so far, but, as usual, reset Restore.

 

Just completed the recording which first takes you through rolling back from the 332 to TH2 and then watches as the 342 arrives, downloads and installs with other typical updates, and then you watch the Getting Started new app! along with picking through several wallpapers and showing the recently added Privacy setting.

The musical interlude wasn't even planned but was found when going to review the recording when finding the Getting Started app shown had it's own voice narration which blotted the music until that was finished. WMP was running at the time.

 

I'm in the slow ring and still stuck with the 14295 version. Is this normal?

 

Yes.. to get this build you need to be in the fast ring.
