This workaround has one minus point, though: Occasionally when there's nothing special need to get reminded for and have deleted all stickies, an empty note will be opened at sign in and I need to close it.

In earlier builds I did not have to think of this; Sticky Notes was always automatically opened when there were existing stickies. When not, it did not open.

 

Pin Sticky Notes to Taskbar, or use Cortana! *Wink

 

Mine is on also and I get updates right away.

It came up only after my comment, thus the reason for it.

 

Dona was on the Windows Weekly podcast this week live from Microsoft's World Partners Conference. When pressed for an RTM date she coyly said "RT what?". They kept trying to get it out of her, and finally she said... "August 2nd". *Party

 

I wonder if they're shooting for a 14400 RTM build number.

 

I have been quite sure some time now that will be the Anniversary Update build. I am even suspecting that the August 2nd, first Tuesday of August was chosen to get the version number even, version 1608 instead of 1607.

 

I suspect that the version will be 1608 due to the date change.

 

That makes a ton of sense, actually. I'm almost certain that you're right.

 

I think it will be unlikely they will change it from 1607. RTM will likely be compiled in July and I am sure they already have a tons of documents and such all using 1607 already.

 

But it only makes sense in a strange way. I mean, TH2 is version 1511, an odd number. But somehow version 1607 does not "fit" in MS naming and numbering policy like 1608 does.

Can't explain what I mean...

Does not affect me in anyway, whatever numbers they use *Smile
