Windows 10: Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14905 for PC and Mobile

I did notice that the settings crashed when I first used them but now they don't. Seems odd to me.

Oh and I have the same power button issue but I can right click on the windows button and I get the power options.

I replaced the file with the one from your OneDrive, and the settings app is still crashing....

Windows 10 Home x64 on Build 14901.

 

I just did a fast test and restarted my PC and I didn't have the settings app crash.. oh and I didn't make any changes. I'm not sure what occurred but the settings app did crash when I first tried it and now it just works.

Oh and I'm using Pro 64 bit.

 

So I need to connect a bluetooth keyboard to my computer. The settings app is crashing on me when I try to click on the bluetooth settings option. What should I do?

 

The file on my Onedrive is from build 14905 which may or may not make a difference. There may also be a new issue that I am not aware of at this time.

 

Okay...just FYI...I did try to download the Build 14901 version of the file when you offered it on your onedrive. The settings app still crashed even then...should I try to do a fresh install of 14901 and see if the issue goes away?

 

Sounds like to me this may a separate issue. In 14901 the file was simply missing in Window 10 Home. I am not sure what to recommend to you. Did the Settings app issue occur in 14393? At least MS is now aware of this issue and a fix is probably forthcoming. I know that does not help you right now.

 

Ok. Thanks for the suggestion. The settings app is so crucial that I really can't use Windows without. I will continue to test out the Insider Builds, but until the settings app is fixed on the Home edition of the Insider Builds, I will keep away from it for now.

No problems so far on 2 different desktops.........

 

Wow, 14901/5 were both so buggy for me. Sirius XM FC'ed every time I launched it, I couldn't take my Asus Transformer tablet out of tablet mode because I couldn't get to the system settings, just an all around mess. Just reinstalled 14393 on my desktop to get back to full functionality. I think I'll be waiting until I see verified reports of functional system settings and non crashing apps.
