I'm going to ask my mate Nigel to talk to his mate Donald to send the boys round to Redmond to stop them messing about with the good ole bits of Windows they seem hell bent on replacing with modern crapps, and to put back all the bits they have already taken out before it's too late, and Vlad no-mates pushes the button. *Sad

I don't think it will be that easy. If you type in mspaint.exe in the "Run" box then it launches the revamped version.
Reinstalling the old mspaint.exe will take over and you'll need to create a shortcut on your desktop to launch 3d paint.
Haven't tried that yet, not even sure the two will want to live together in the same box....

Why not just type "cmd" in File Explorer?

More and more screen area taken up by control elements with every subsequent version - it's a paint program, not a dashboard or lego set for goodness!

One neat thing you can do with Paint 3D, you can view .ico(icons) with out 3rd party software. I have tried modifying, but I doubt it would work like GIMP.
When I double clicked an .ico:

 

I never had problems opening .ico files for editing in the older versions of MSPaint - they did show up at 100% and not 66%, and the filename was conveniently shown in the title bar, no more now tho:

 

Yeah, I'll stick to GIMP(with the gimp_iconify2_1 SCM file) *Biggrin
There is a reason I use transparency on my icons. But maybe I could see if I an get a bit of 3D action on my icons, using booth tools.

 

Downloaded b14971 and installed whilst I was out (so no ESD again).
Seems to be working.

When they pay for, and supply, my hardware then they get to claim they own it.

Once my Software Development course ends (Dec 2017) I'll have to spend time my spare time mastering Linux.
Once 2020 arrives MS will no doubt start releasing dodgy updates to finish off W7 and the W8 series.
