I understand you and I agree. Something got into me this time, though: I dreamed of a clean Event Viewer! And since DCOM 10016 was the ONLY error appearing in there, I dared to dream I could get rid of it! After losing the battle, I'm now back into my place...

    Hi,

That dream I totally share. I achieved it with the AU Edition, no problem at all but the second AU Edition is a bit err.... funky.

I also adhere to the philospy to first fix the broken bits then add new things. No good to build a home on a swamp, right ?

    Cheers, *Wink

I've wondered why folks just don't use outlook.com through their choice of browser as opposed to the Outlook email application...? I've got outlook.com and gmail email accounts and I never touch a stand-alone email reader. Both work splendidly through Ff x64 DE. Just sort of seems passe' to me these days...Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16188 PC and 15210 Mobile ;)

Advantages--for spammers, maybe--to using a stand-alone email app? Just curious. I used to use Mozilla's stand-alone app--"Thunderchicken"? or something...Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16188 PC and 15210 Mobile ;) Just haven't done so in a long time. I mean browser and .pdf integration with Office doesn't require anything special, either, imo. Just thought I'd ask and maybe I'll learn something new...Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16188 PC and 15210 Mobile ;)

Yes, at some point Microsoft is going to have to freeze "feature creep" and concentrate on extant bugs or else it's simply going to worsen with time, imo. No question about it.

like you said in the last post.. not taking sides, just trying to understand. I think we are, more or less, guessing about development paths of build (sub)branches. Think we could see a pattern with new features introduction and bug fixes in AU and CU.

I'm getting impression MS is doing like old gold miners.. Get a bunch of new material and then clearing it slowly. in February I didn't believe that MS would deliver AU in March. So many old and new bugs in build twice a week.. I last two weeks they just crushed most of the bugs. And AU was ready in time (more or less *Wink).

We are in the timeframe of introducing some new features right now, and I'm kind of cool with this. There will be bugs and changes, but it's Preview thing.

    Just my view *Smile

I agree... just dunno why new features are so important... rather than fixes (unless we are so self-absorbed)

I was sort of amazed @ Paint 3d, actually, to discover that it did not replicate standard paint's feature set and simply add the "3d" toy set of features to it. I put the old paint right back in--its highest feature of use to me is when I do screen shots and save them to image files. Regular paint has a couple more handy features, too, which means I don't have to whip out a full-blown image processor every time I want to do something simple, etc. But Paint 3d is a novelty/toy and certainly no replacement! Surprising. But hey...I once worked on a credit-card project (putting together an e-commerce engine for an online store) with a bunch of programmers more skilled than I in certain aspects of what needed to be done--and I was surprised by how little they actually knew about certain things relative to what I considered "common knowledge" in fully using Windows...Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16188 PC and 15210 Mobile ;) (Practical cause-effect stuff.) They were great with the coding--but not so hot with the command line, if you know what I mean...Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16188 PC and 15210 Mobile ;) It's not a criticism by any means--just an observation.

I use Outlook desktop app because it allows me to use my multiple email accounts from one application. I use actively about half a dozen Microsoft account emails, a few @MyOwnDomains addresses, two Gmail and so on. Turning your question around, I'm wondering why on earth should I sign in to all these accounts separately using a browser when it's so easy and effortless to manage and access all of them centrally using Outlook desktop app's intuitive and clear GUI, not to mention getting automatically notified about new messages, calendar reminders and such without a need to keep multiple browsers open staying signed in to all accounts.

As Outlook is more a personal information manager than a simple email client, it also integrates my tasks lists, calendars and contacts from various accounts.

I do not understand why this is being Called The Creatures Update and build 15063.13-250 were called the Creators Update. There are issues in this build that were reported and are still not fixed. I cannot change the Lock screen or get anywhere near the setting as the desktop returns after a flash. I cannot use sleep as when I try to wake it up it restarts and then I get a msg from MS,,,and so forth. It seems to me that as these builds progress the quality is deteriorated. Oh and it only took me 2 1/2 hours to install. after 3 GSOD,s and 4 failures. End of rant.

Josey, it is ok to rant. I hope you reported these issues -- even if you reported them in previous builds. MS needs to know these are still problems that are not resolved.

  15. Installed on the physical machine smoothly. I am now creating a Hyper-V VM using the Generation 2 style (never successfully did this before with Hyper-V) The physical machine itself has a Gigabyte Mobo which is only capable of the "Hybrid UEFI". don't use it but only the SSD is on a MBR partition - all other drives are GPT. Can see a reason to change from MBR to GPT yet. I'm interested as to whether the time sync problem arises - I'll know fairly soon. Even if it works with Hyper-V no guarantee it will work with VMware or Virtualbox.
