Windows 10: Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast Build 16281 for PC

Just installed, and it only took me 20 to 25 minutes.
As usual, no problems at all.
But my Insider build is in a Hyper-V VM so it should go smooth.

My system is overclocked to 4.9GHz and I have 32GB RAM and the VMs can use as much as they need, as I have memory set to Dynamic, also the virtual machines are on a 3rd internal SSD, so even my VMs are running with higher specs than most off the shelf machines.

 

That's a record for me with UUP. Just over 3 hours to the desktop.

 

Secondary PC stated installing as soon as I turned it on at 8AM. will see how long it's going to take.

 

Doing my pre-upgrade preparation routines and then sucking this one.

 

35 minutes later and it's still at first part "Installing" (82 %) with high HDD activity, definitively because of slow drive. On Ryzen machine with SSD that lasts only few minutes.

 

I turn mine off as well because they are in my bedroom. I don't want the lights or the noise. Besides you're saving on the bill and the environment.

 

Successfully upgraded on first try.

This time I decided to clock the process. Here are the results:

Yes, prepare time caught me by surprise, usually one of longer periods with high HDD activity. My is now at first step after restart but that part is now taking it's sweet time and super high disk activity.

 

Upgrade took exactly an hour.

 

My is still playing "Energizer bunny".

 

Upgrading took one hour and 30 minutes. All went well.

Copying from my Modem-Router:

No other broadband package available for sale in my area.


NOTE: [perhaps I should not calculate it like this but...] With "Upgrading" I mean, upgrading, running Disk Cleanup, clean-installing the latest NVIDIA driver, running CCleaner, and disabling Hibernation. And all the rebooting required in-between.

 

On desktop finally. Started at 9AM, finished 10:54AM including time to make ISO and transfer it to USB.

 

It upgraded at the background, so I couldn't figure out the time it took for this upgrade, when I checked for upgrade after reading this thread, restart was available.

 

Updated complete to desktop...39 minutes.

 

will this IP move into official when its ready, i got 195 apps installed in programs and features and can't be bothered to reinstall all those...
