So far this seems to be a very stable build. Complete install time from "CHECK FOR UPDATES" to having the desktop open in the new build was less than 40 minutes, which is longer than it use to take but still not bad.

Building AIO (Edition) X64 .ISO via UUP2ISO using files downloaded via UUPDUMP miniserver.

    Hi,

Too much empty HDD lying around ?
Sorry but why make an AIO of a W10 version that's going to be history in a week or two ?

Never felt any need for this mini-server either, uup2iso works just fine for me.

That said, I can't help but notice that what works for me does not necessarily work for my neighbour so to speak.

    Cheers, *Wink

I have gobs of HD space. 3 TB of storage, 1 TB for system and programs and games, and 256 GB for \Users. So, yeah, HD space.

I keep them around for archival purposes, but I only go back as far as the last official release and the IP builds since 17095. That's a whopping 49 GB of space. Whooooo. I might have to regulate that much *Roflmao2

Also, we've had several users, including myself, who have been unable to install a particular build here and there, and having an .ISO around makes things a lot easier. Creating the AIO Edition means I don't have to say "Well, I have 10 Pro only in case someone needs an .ISO. Otherwise, it can be a case of *Banghead

As fro UUP2ISO, uh, that's what I use to build the .ISO. UUPDUMP miniserver is what I use to actually get the files that UUP2ISO needs. And it's a **** ton faster - I can get the files needed for any given AIO Edition X64 English build in roughly 4 minutes flat (average DL speed is well above 35 MB/s on my 330 Mbps downstream). I never get 4 min flat using Windows Update. Ever.

Finally, One more thing to consider: Both my laptop (Lenovo) and my desktop are on skippy - so I have no files to build the .ISOs of the regular IP Fast ring builds currently.

A whopping 35 minutes spent downloading and building 3 .ISOs is still a lot faster than letting Windows Update process it all.

And we've gone as long as a month without updates in the past, so there is no real guarantee that it will be history (although they are pushing them out rather quickly this week lol).

I'm not saying my way is the most efficient, nor am I saying that anyone else needs to do this - but I want to do it, so I do.

Just 10 min from reset to desktop. No problems, as usual.

  9. I had bad luck with version 17120.1 so I decided to give this new version a try. It is currently downloading 17120.1 again. *Sad

After installing 17120.1 again, I checked updates again and 17123.1 is now installed and I have sound. Much happier! *Party

The problem with the sleep function was finally solved in this build, there is no need to enable hibernation or disable fast startup or things like that *Thumbs

Up to now all good here... This took a bit longer to install in comparison to the previous build (17120 > 80 minutes, 17123 > 105 minutes).

  15. I went from 16299.309 to 17123.1 and just tested the sleep function and I was pleasantly surprised that it worked properly. It never worked for me before, it was always go to sleep and not come back without a re-boot.
