Really fast download phase 1 and quick prep to install, too.

 

Same here - good direction to be headed in.

 

There was no that part about 77 -79% slowdown at initial install procedure.

 

The Windows 10S installer is interesting.

A few day ago, I clean installed 10S on a vm that was activated with PRO but it did not activate. I tried to use the troubleshooter and it pointed to a 10 PRO digital licence, but selecting that upgraded it to PRO (which did activate.

So it seems only way to install 10S and activate it is to be running PRO, and use this installer - it is interesting that it does a clean install even though you have PRO installed. I wonder if it is a real clean install as we know them.

I wonder if you get a new digital licence so you can later clean install via iso if necessary?

I have to say, I am a little underwhelmed by this new build - I expected o see a few gems still. I get the impression MS have decided to curtail development a bit earlier than on previous builds. They do say they are focussing more on making RS3 stable, and this is obvious from this release.

I just have a gut feeling from the tone of words, we will not gain much being on rs_prelease anyway - no leaps and bounds yet for the skippy version *chuckle.

Me too and my last build was 16257.1 now this one is 16273.1000

 

Seems to be a fast download and Installation - using the Express version of the UUP on the x86 Windows 10 Pro 16273 Skippy distribution at 3.25GB downloaded:





On another laptop using the Canonical version of the UUP on the x86 Windows 10 Pro 16273 Skippy distribution at 1.94GB downloaded:

Wish I had something to try that Augmented Reality.

 

I have to admit that although I use Windows Update through PowerShell almost exclusively, and have been doing so already quite some time, I still get shocked and whisky all over my shirt and keyboard when PS shows new build available and its size:





Of course I know this is not true, it's just a small bug (only bug I have found in PS WU). All other update sizes are reported correctly but a feature upgrade is always told to be between 150 and 200 GB!

 

I note Defender is now live, so unless you turn it to Off (there is the option) you can no longer mount it on the Taskbar.
