Windows 10: Announcing Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149

Turning those off helped mine quite a bit, but I do still have Wi-Fi turned on though.

I just installed the Battery app, and will let it sit with it for a bit to get a more accurate discharge rate and such. Afterwards, I'll post back a pic of it.

For the record, my extremely high discharge rates were similar both on Lumia 925 and 930.

 

It's currently giving me a 3.18% per hour discharge rate. Before, I could watch the battery level percentage counting down. LOL

 

Lol! Kind of like watching the gas gage on those gas guzzlers we used to drive to see how fast we were going.

How stable is the rest of the build? I'm chomping at the bits to upgrade.

 

I'm actually quite surprised how stable 10149 is so far.

 

Other than OneDrive not working properly at times, it's been stable for me.

When it OneDrive acts up, I just connect the phone to the computer instead though.

 

That's not too bad. I might reinstall after we've done todays chat sessions.

 

Has anyone got the quiet hours to work on 10149?

The 'Quiet Hours' tile in the Action Center doesn't seem to work, but turning it on from within Cortana Settings►Notebook►Quiet Hours is possible, yet, it doesn't block everything when set to 'No one breaks through'! *Sad

 

Furthermore:
How do you disable the friggin Lock Screen!?!?!?

 

A couple other things that may apply to battery drainage:

Turn off the Location Sensor and turn it on only when needed, HereDrive navigation for example;

Also, if you press and hold the Back arrow on the Navigation bar then swipe down to close apps suspended in the background to the right of the Start Page; may or may not have an effect, I'm not sure.

 

All in all, this Build is quite good and stable.
I may just keep it running. This Build is to the previous what 10147 was to 10130 on the desktop.
Aside from a few minor glitches, so far it's very nice.

Cortana is a little 'burpy' every so often but 'She' will perform all tasks and open apps.

Offline voice navigation with HereMaps/HereDrive works flawlessly!

Edit: you really have to get into the guts of the system and tweak a lot of settings.

Hopefully I'll have my tower up and running again soon. I'll have to wait until then. As much as I'd like to there's just too many irons in the fire for me to play with this.

Seriously though, I'm real excited with this Build, Cortana, syncing all my stuff with OneDrive and, especially HereMaps/HereDrive!
I just got the royal screw around by TomTom on my Android, they now want me to pay by mileage!
So if W10 Phone works as well as I hope, I'm may buy a flagship Windows Phone and ditch the Android!
