Windows 10: Annoying bold font on lots of websites turns c's into o's, i's into l's on all web browsers

It happens on many websites, on every web browser tested Chrome, Firefox and Edge this is what it looks like on Yahoo Finance and openstreetmap.org:




Turning off font smoothing in Windows is not desirable, and it doesn't work either.


How do I solve this?

Bolded Font on Internet Browsers

Hi,

This issue may have been caused by a Windows 10 update that changed your font settings automatically. If you recently updated your operating system, we suggest that you follow these steps to see if the font will go back to normal:

• Type font in the search bar.
• Select Change Font settings.
• Click Restore default font settings.

Let us know the status of the issue to assist you further.

 

Bold font

unfortunately that didn't help. I'm still getting that bold font. I'm not sure which it is but Arial seems to be the go to font. I tried to uninstall the Bold one and was unable to do so. They said it was protected. Any other suggestions?

 

Bolded Font on Internet Browsers

Out of nowhere this evening, some of the text on various websites became bolded. I know this is a fairly common problem, and has happened to me before on several occasions, and I've always been able to fix it rather easily, but I've been trying to find
a solution that works on here and on various websites, and so far nothing has worked, and I'm kinda at a dead end.

Just some of the text is bolded, which is different from the other times this has happened to me when all the text on websites changed to bold. Here's an example of what I see when I open Wikipedia:





Again, just some of the text (mostly headings, titles, some links, etc.) is bolded, and this is how it is on every webpage I visit. This is occurring on all three web browsers installed on my computer (Chrome, Firefox, Edge), but is not affecting any other
programs on the OS. When I've had this problem before, I've just had to uninstall and/or install certain fonts, but again, none of those solutions seem to be working this time and nothing new I've found has fixed it either.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance!
