annoying network issue with windows 10 pro confined to one desktop

Need some help from the smart people in here. I have searched the Internet and this forum and been unable to come up with a solution to my issue. I have an older HP Pavilion. it has an AMD A8-5500 APU 3.2 GHz and 16 gig of RAM installed. I am using windows 10 Pro OS build 19042.685. I am utilizing Comcast Xfinity blast with 250 Mb download speed.

The desktop in question only has issues when utilizing a web browser. If I use FTP or usenet I get full speed down around 190-200mb/s. I have tried Firefox, Google chrome, windows explorer 11, and finally Microsoft edge with similar results. For example I will try to load reddit and it will partially load the page and then will not load past the first screen or two on any sub. if I try to do any web based download it’s .1 Mb a second or will not download it all and fails. if I go to Google home it works quickly but almost every other webpage seems to be excruciatingly slow and there seems to be some type of a problem but only with the web browsers?

initially I thought it was the built-in wireless card so I disabled it and bought a netgear A7000 external USB Wi-Fi receiver. same issue exists. I have disabled all other wireless adapters and it still doesn’t seem to make a difference. Usenet and FTP are absolutely not effected and I get full speed. Any ideas?

    Issues with network adapters

    Hi Alfonso,

To resolve this issue, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter when you switch from WiFi to Ethernet connection. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems including clearing the network cache to obtain a new
IP from the new network. Kindly follow the steps below:

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Identify and repair network problems, and then select
Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
    • Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

If the issue persists, kindly try the troubleshooting steps on the following link:

Fix network connection issues in Windows 10
    .

We recommend that you try the steps on the Update the network adapter driver,
Run the Network troubleshooter followed by networking commands, and Use network reset to reinstall network devices sections.

Let us know how it goes for us to assist you further.

annoying network issue with windows 10 pro confined to one desktop

Windows 10 - Control panel shows my HP Officejet Pro 8600 networked printer as "not connected" but it works?

    Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated

    • Is the issue confined to only this computer on the network?
To ensure that the printer is only connected to this computer over the network, I suggest you to remove the printer from the network and do a test print from this computer. If the printer is able to print the test page that means the printer is connected
to this computer by other means, .i.e. either through an Ethernet cable.

Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you.
