Windows 10: Annoying occasional alert like sound

    Annoying occasional alert like sound


    Win 10. There are no alarms set. System sounds had been muted. Narrator and Text-to-Speech turned off. Silent period 7PM to 7AM. At 1 AM and other times there were loud double bells clangs. At other random times, many hours apart, there have been loud symbol crashes.

    How to change the Appointment Reminder sound

    I would like to change the alert sound to be one that is not annoying. The only way to get rid of the annoying sound is to turn off the alerts. I also have typically been replying from my phone email so I don't see the whole thread only your current reply, so
    I was not aware that you were the only one replying. I do appreciate your assistance and did not intend to offend you.

    Is it possible to turn off the sound portion of the Defender alerts?

    Is it possible to turn off the sound portion of the Defender alerts? The constant tone each time it detects and removes a malware hit is annoying.

    Yes, this has been going on for some time with many restarts. I've tried restarting in safe mode. Unfortunately, I don't have audio in safe mode. That a different unresolved problem.
