    Annoying sound issue after upgrading to Windows 10


    Hi everyone,
    since "upgrading" to Windows 10 (I have tons of different issues, this sound problem is only the most annoying one, so i really wouldn't call it an upgrade so far) I'm experiencing an incredibly annoying sound issue. Whenever I'm watching a video on Youtube in full screen or playing a game my sound will constantly cut out for several seconds, then work for a few and cut back out again. I've spent hours online trying to find a fix for this and I've tried almost everything I came across (updating sound drivers, reinstalling sound drivers, messing around in the services.msc folder), but absolutely nothing helped.
    So if anyone has an idea how I could maybe fix this I would be very grateful, I'm using the Via HD Audio driver for Windows 10, maybe that information helps.

    Many of the users here are facing a problem as described in the title but no one is getting a satisfactory answer for that.Please mention your solutions if you know any in this discussion so that users can try see if their problem is resolved.

    Volume mixer system sounds doesn't work right

    After the Windows 10 upgrade, I have the same issue. With volume mixer opened, the system sound level is as adjusted. When volume mixer is closed the sound goes up to an annoying high level. (By example: User account control warning). The system sound volume
    setting is kept in the mixer, but when closed it is not interpreted by the system.

    I have Realtek High Definition Audio installed, and udated the driver to the latest available version 6.0.1.7571, but this has no effect.

    What version of the VIA HD audio driver have you installed, the one from your Gigabyte motherboard.

    I had the default one that came with my motherboard installed, but I downloaded this one, the Via Vinyl HD driver ( Screenshot - 8f7a99c012415fa477772de381436e2f - Gyazo ) instead while trying to fix the sound issues.
    Are you suggesting I should download one directly from Gigabyte's website?

    Thank you for trying to help, but I can't even select 96000 Hz, it only goes up to 48000 Hz. I've seen a few people suggesting this fix on other forums aswell with 24 bit and something like 192000 Hz, but that's even further out of my reach. Do you know why I can't select anything above 48 KHz?

    Hi, can I suggest you download LatencyMon by Resplendence (free) and run a scan?
    Some people are experiencing audio problems because of driver latency - search the forum (and elsewhere) for 'stutter' -several threads. It's pretty quick to rule this out or not.

    Hardware which was fine under Win 8, say, may be problematic under '10. Various things found to improve, sometimes fix this, but it is hard.
