  1. Another problem, mouse started not wanting to move, pause and start

pause and start when you drag across the screen.
Was watching TV in sichbopvr, and mouse completely vanished inside the program.

I tried to go to restart, but could net get the mouse to move over there, as it would not respond and then suddenly lets loose across the screen. Dd this for a while as I was trying to move it.
Exploring what mouse was doing, if you steadily move the mouse, the icon would move a little, then stop, then move again, then stop as if in a rhythmical patterned steady manner.
    I gave up.

So I unplugged the PC. When I rebooted, now all I get is the windows thingy circling round and round. Been doing this for at least 5 minutes and PC is silent, no noise from a hard drive.

I have has so much trouble with win10, its not a laughing matter anymore. Win 7 NEVER gave me any troubles.

I got my new win7 pro disc in the mail today, and I am installing it tomorrow on a different drive, and likely win10 wont get any more use for this media PC. 'He's dead jim' *Mad

    :)

How can I TURN OFF, not pause, music (Pandora, podcasts, store) completely on Windows 8 phone?

The problem is that when you connect or disconnect from your Bluetooth, it un-pauses automatically and starts playing at whatever volume you left it at. It's quite annoying and extremely inconvenient.

There is no reason to stop it completely. Pause it, when you want to continue later, move the volume and start it playing again.

  4. Another problem, mouse started not wanting to move, pause and start

    update.
Win10 managed to show the desktop.
Sichbopvr has lost all its tuner configuarations, but unlike before when I also lost windows activation, this time it stayed activated.

However the mouse is halting and starting, almost impossible to use.

everything was fine until about 30 minutes ago.

  5. I use to have same problem you are having with mouse not responding and to solve it i had to reset the graphic card by taking it out of its slot and re-connecting the graphic card. I also installed latest version of graphic card driver.

If resetting graphic card and installing driver for the graphic card won't work then boot your computer into Safe Mode and let us know if the issue persist or not.

  6. I can try that tomorrow. I have a 3TB HGST drive, be here on thursday.
My plan is get win 7 pro running. When the 3TB gets here, put it in and copy some video files on to it. It will be used for storage-recorded TV shows.

Then once everything is working on win7. Perhaps do a fresh reinstall of win10 pro. I downloaded the iso. From what I have read, it should install and automatically activate. See I did an in-place upgrade from 7, maybe that has crippled it, I just dont know.
It refused to let me go back to win7 and it was only 6 days, and I have so many weird issues keep appearing. I did have to swap video cards as that gtx260 was stopping and starting when showing video and now the mouse is stopping and starting, go figure. That gtx260 worked fine in a different win10 pc.

the best OS is one that does not get in the way, but works invisibly to you without any grief and does what you want it to do.

There must be some kind of log file that could be recording these errors? Might be hard to open seeing the mouse being weird.

  7. There is no event log for mouse issues but there is application and system logs which can be view from Event Viewer. You can open the Event Viewer by typing eventvwr.msc into Start Menu.

Make sure to install all latest device driver for Windows 10.

Can you also execute following commands to repair surface errors on HDD/SSD drives and repair any corrupted Window system files.

I would like you to check and repair the system integrity of your Windows OS installation.

    • Please type cmd.exe into Start Menu search box.
    • Please right click cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator".
    • Please type the following command and press the <Enter> key: sfc /scannow (Please note that there is a space between 'sfc" and "/scannow".)
    • It should take about 20 minutes to run, if there are no serious errors.
    • If the System File Checker reports that some errors were fixed, but some remain; please reboot your computer and run the System File Checker from an Administrator Command Prompt, again.
    • If the System File Checker again reports that some errors were fixed, but some remain, please reboot your computer and run it a third time.
    • If "Resource Integrity Violations" (errors) are reported that could not be corrected, or were not corrected after a third SFC run, then please navigate to the folder: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and copy the file "cbs.log" to your desktop immediately. I am asking you do that because that file is dynamic, so I want to be able to examine a copy that is unchanged from the time that the System File Checker was run.
    • If there are errors that couldn't be corrected, let me know and I will provide you with instructions as to how to upload the file

I would like you to check and repair the HDD/SSD surface errors.

    • Please type cmd.exe into Start Menu search box.
    • Please right click cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"
    • Please type the following command and press the <Enter> key:

      Code: Chkdsk C: /f[/quote]

You might be ask to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N). Type Y and press Enter key to schedule error checking.

  8. Another problem, mouse started not wanting to move, pause and start

Running sfc /scannow at this moment.
I woke at 3 am and noticed the PC mouse issue seems to affect more than the mouse.
It is like at every count say '1001' then you hear a light hard drive 'click-click', 1001, click-click, over and over continuously. Every time it click-clicks, the mouse will stop. And if you moving the mouse, it remembers you were sliding it and it will jump across the screen. It was very hard to get mouse to line up to open the windows. So something is interupting the PC.

  10. I am again setting up sichbopvr, whatever happens when win10 crashes, it wipes out all that programs config. Have to rescan all channels.
The OS win10 for me is acting very unreliably.
Can trust it to just function.

And why after this scan now and it finds no integrity issues, the mouse suddenly on completion is perfect again? sfc must have done something and it does not tell you that. sfc fixed some non file integrity issue?

  11. If the SFC found any corrupted system files it would have let you know if repaired or not.

Please download and run SeaTools for Windows.

Before the installation begins you will be prompted to either Decline or Accept the terms of the installation, click on I Accept.

    1. SeaTools for Windows will search for HDDs and SSDs on your computer.

    2. Detected Drives will list the HDDs and SSDs found. Place a check mark in the drive box you want to run the scan on. This should be the drive that has the operating system installed on it, this is usually C: drive.

    3. You will see Basic Tests toolbar above Detected Drives, move the mouse pointer over this to open the test options. Please click on Long Generic Test

    4. This will start the scan. When the scan is complete you will see the result under Test Status , please post the results in your topic.

    5. The test will indicate either Pass or Fail. Post the results of the scan in your topic.

    6. Click on Help, then click on View Log File. If the scan failed take a screen shot of the Log File and post it in your topic.

  12. Ok, I installed but will run it later as it looks like it will take long time.
I am installing win7 right now on a separate drive, a WDC Blue 1TB 2012.
Plan is to dual boot. I pulled sata cable to the Hitachi 1TB drive with win 10 on it.

Dual-booting means more than one operating system is installed on same storage drive (HDD/SSD).

If your mouse does not move, chances are your pc crashed...
Ran into the same problem a while back. In my case the F hard drive sata guide tab was broken so the drive would loose continuity
because the sata cable pins did not have any pressure against the SSD drive pins. I managed to fix it by inserting a piece of a tie strap on the top of the sata cable and very carefully inserting it back in the hard drive sata pins...
Normally if windows 10 starts boots and works for a period of time before it crashes your problem is being caused by some sort of
hardware problem. Take your pick, Motherboard, Power Supply, Ram Cpu, Gpu, and the list goes on.
If after you install windows 7 and if the problem continues.
Disconnect everything from your PC, Just leave the mouse, keyboard and C drive . Then boot in safe mod. If it clears the problem then Boot in normal mode.
If the problem is not present then start connecting one thing at a time with a restart every time you connect an item. You should be able to find what is causing the problem in this manner.
Note: I entered this code in Admin CMD.
    bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

I can enter safe mode simply by hitting f8 on my key board.
Windows 10 will crash if it sees all your drives and something causes one to loose continuity amusing your running more than one.
It will crash even if C drive is working perfectly...
    Hopes this helps...
