Windows 10: Another Windows Update Alternative?

Just stumbled across this tool from Developer Mike C (WSUS Offline Update - Update Microsoft Windows and Office without an Internet connection) care of the HowToGeek website. It's called WSUS Offline Update, and it's kept reasonably current by its developer. Apparently, it helps to address at least some of the various Windows Update issues that have been popping up with such frequency lately. You may want to check it out!

Windows update_1900101 Windows 10

I haven't been able to install Windows 10 due to the following error: C1900101-20017. Any idea what this is and does it mean I'm out of luck?

 

Another W10 update, another fiasco; no start button, Cortana search box disabled

After SIX hours of downloading, rebooting, 'getting you PC ready", "Won't be long now" the desktop finally reloaded.

Now the start button does nothing and the Cortana search box is dead.

ANy ideas how I can get this crock of a thing going again?

 

Thanx Ed, don't mean to knock the app... but there seems an awful many fixes... which means one has to re-dowload each time? anyways it's been around for a while now....so.

 

Note that it will only download KB's that are in MS Security Bulletins, which are all the critical and important downloads; so you will still have to do a Windows Update afterwards to fetch the ordinary non-critical updates.
