  1. Anti malware Executable Using High Memory

I’ve tried basically everything but for some reason i keep checking my task manager and the anti malware executable is using around 15% of my memory.I’ve tried disabling windows defender. Going into task scheduler and changing the properties there disable high priority and unchecking the startup stuff but nothing seems to work. I’d like to just not even run the program if it’s going to use tht much Ram but i can’t forcibly end it.

    :)

ANTI MALWARE SERVICE EXECUTABLE USING HIGH MEMORY

The last three laptops I have owned were all running windows, all had the same problem. I am currently running an 8GB SSD HP Elitebook with plenty of power. Still, a minimum 40% of memory is constantly being used by Anti Malware Service Executable. I have spent more than 30 hours with microsoft tech support. There is no fix for this problem. Half the tech's I spoke to barely spoke any english and didn't even know this was a problem. There is no process for escalation with microsoft. If the tech can't solve your problem, the exact same tech rings you again the next day.

Some of the fixes I have tried are :

    - Turn off real time protection (resets as soon as computer is turned back on)

    - Run a manual Defender scan

    - Adjust Defender settings in Task Scheduler (remove highest priority and conditions, resets as soon as it updates)

    - Include Anti Malware file/process in Defender exclusions list

    - Include all defender files and processes (including hidden) in Defender exclusions list

    - Update all drivers from laptop manufacturer

    - Update windows

    - Remove nearly all programs from startup and running in background

    - Clear Temp, %temp%, prefetch and superfetch folders

    - Run Storage Sense, Clear temporary files and run disk cleanup

    - Go into regedit to try to set value to zero, to disable defender (resets itself)

    - Limit Defender CPU usage to 10%

    - Run CHKDSK, SFC/SCANNOW and DISM RESTORE HEALTH

    - Do full reinstall of windows (with microsoft tech on the phone)

I have completed all of the above steps on different computers, none of them made a difference.

Apparently, from what I understand (as I seem to have unwillingly become an expert in how windows works) the real time feature keeps scanning, maybe scanning itself in the background.

  3. ANTI MALWARE SERVICE EXECUTABLE.

    Hello,

It's me Ayan. Actually I'm experiencing high memory and disk usage on my dell Inspiron 5559.It's because of the 'Anti Malware Service Executable'. I've tried everything, Task scheduler, Excluding the process, but still it uses more than 600MB every time.
I know people will say it's a full scan, but everytime? I've tried turning off the Real-Time protection (so-called) but still. I need support ASAP.

    REGARDS, AYAN.

    McAffee and Emsisoft Anti Malware

I personally use Emsisoft Anti-Malware and IMO it is far better than McAfee...

If you decide to use Emsisoft, please make sure to fully uninstall McAfee with the help of their specific removal tool from this List
    of anti-malware product removal tools
    before you install Emsisoft.

    FYI:

I've asked a moderator to remove the best buy link in your post. If you want to buy Emsisoft Anti Malware then it's best to go directly to their site: emsisoft.com
