Antimalware Scan Interface <> AMSI -how to disable COMPLETELY??

    Greetings.
I'm using BitDefender Internet Security, but sometimes some internetsites are blocked by AMSI, which is part of Windows 10
    Antimalware Scan Interface (Windows)

How do I turn this completely off?? I have a lifetime license to Malwarebytes, and for some reasons they don't seem to like eachother all the time.

AMSI and BitDefender works together, but I can't find any settings that will allow me to turn it off *Sad

    :)

[Win10 Defender] Constantly detecting non-existent threat

    Hi 3ICE,

i don't know if it will be helpful but amsiuac is actually the concatenation of two acronyms AMSI and UAC which respectively means AntiMalware Scan Interface and User Account Control (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt438234(v=vs.85).aspx)

By the way, I have the same error in Windows Defender since i ran keygen which was asking for admin rights

I guess the "amsiuac" thing has to do with this:

Change User Account Control (UAC) Settings in Windows 10

"In Windows 10, User Account Control has
    added some improvements
    .

    • Integration with the Antimalware Scan Interface (AMSI). The
      AMSI
scans all UAC elevation requests for malware. If malware is detected, the admin privilege is blocked."

BTW, this forum must have one of the most ridiculously bad forum editors ever seen on earth.

Well AMSI is used by applications to call any available AV, so it's actually bit defender that is most likely blocking the site. Disabling AMSI may end of breaking applications or weaken the security of your system. If you really want to disable it, you could unregister the amsi.dll file with regsrv32 /u <dllpath>

Yes, it is BitDefender blocking the site, but BitDefender has normally 2 options <Take me back to safety> or <Continue at own risk>. When it is AMSI blocking the second option does not work, as the lockscreen shows up instant.
I feel safe with BitDefender and Malwarebytes, and I don't need AMSI to interfer when I can't disable it the very few sites I want to. If it was possible to disable AMSI for a single session I would keep it, but so far I have not been able to do that.

You could also disable the smart screen filter. This is what appears to be calling AMSI. If bit defender has it's own web filter driver then you should be sufficiently protected.

Hmmm, smart screen filter .. I thought this was for checking downloaded files and web content within apps and not for blocking a complete website in Chrome or Edge? Or am I wrong here?

Antimalware Scan Interface <> AMSI -how to disable COMPLETELY??

Yes it does kick off scans on downloaded content etc. It is the only component that I can tell is hooking into the amsi.dll library though.
