Windows 10: antimalware service executable high memory when not open

    antimalware service executable high memory when not open


    ok, so whenever I open my laptop antimalware service executable takes up a majority of the ram which is odd because i have 16gb of ddr5 ram and Antimalware service executable takes up 250 to 300 mb of ram when its not open not to mention the cpu ram and disk usage are at 0%. it could be running a scheduled scan but I doubt it since the last time schedule manager says it was active was on the second which is about 4 days ago now. Help pls what do I do?

    AntiMalware Service Executable using high memory.

    I have no idea why but AntiMalware Service Executable is using high memory. I have tried turning off Real time Protection and clearing any possible viruses off my computer but just seems to stay at a high memory usage (averaging around 50% memory).
