Windows 10: Antivirus position - Windows 11 S Mode

Hi. I have a new HP 15s-fq2024na laptop running Windows 11 S mode. I don't understand the antivirus situation - why are there no options for scans? Is it not necessary in S mode? Also, there is supposed to be a year's free McAfee LiveSafe on the laptop, I can find it in Applications, yet there is no settings control and Windows Security tab states Windows Defender is the antivirus. I thought at first it's because S mode doesn't allow 3rd party software to run is that true, but McAfee is available in Windows Store if I click on icon in laptop taskbar I get the following screen apologies,

Remembering Window Position

I have Windows 11 and cannot save window position and size after shutdown. It will remember when it's opened/closed during the day without shutdown. After re-starting it will open to a fixed prior position, but not the last one prior to shutdown.

I have tried all recommended actions on line, tweaking the bagMRU registry setting, "restore previous folder windows at logon" from Folder Options, etc., nothing seems to work.

Anyone have suggestions on how to do this so I don't have to adjust window position after startup? Thanks for all suggestions.

Windows Explorer windows keep changing from last position.

As per the description, I understand that you're experiencing issue with Windows Explorer window position.

I would suggest you to check for updates and install all the updates properly. This could also be a possible cause of Display driver incompatibility issue.

You may check updating the graphics card driver.

If the drivers are not available for Windows 10 I would suggest you to install the drivers available from manufacturer's website in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

  Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

Save Window Position

Hi Shane,

Saving the window size/position when opening a message to a new window is easy. Simply follow the steps below on how to do so:

• Open a message in a new window.
• Press and hold the Ctrl button on your keyboard and click on the
  X button at upper right corner of the window to close it.
• When you open a message in another window, the size/position of the window should be saved.
