Thank you for posting back and for the information.

If the issue started after an automatic Windows update, you have an option or you can try to uninstall that update for now and check if it will fix the issue. For the information and steps on how to rollback or uninstall the latest update you can refer to
the solutions provided by MVP's on the links below:

If that's the case, then we suggest that you rollback the version of your Windows at the time Wordflow is working.

Kindly refer to the article below on how to rollback to previous version.

And it seems that there are others having the same issue, we also suggest that you submit a feedback or report regarding this matter through

Any feedback on this ROLLBACK Program?

Plenty of it here: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/threa...376992/page-17 aside from what feedback you may get here. Because you use Windows 10 AND Macrium Reflect, the link is to the most recent page of that thread. All I would say, without intending to put Rollback RX down at all, is caveat emptor.

What makes you be aware of cautious of it?

Because its low level drivers and use of sectors outside of the file system means it may be fine if it is your only backup system but you need to be aware of how to use Macrium Reflect and other imaging solutions alongside Rollback RX or you may be in for some nasty surprises or, at the very least, find that you'll have to do some repairs to have a system bootable and Rollback snapshots in tact after an image restore. That page 17 I linked you to, and preceding pages, can give you a more comprehensive look at other problems I haven't mentioned.

I haven't used Rollback RX and haven't seen much discussion of it here at TenForums. That's why I gave you the link I did and, because I have tracked some Rollback RX discussions at the referred to forum in the past, think you will find a good chunk of the feedback you were looking for.

By no means am I trying to take away from the value of any feedback you may receive from other members here at TenForums.

Exactly the same as yours. Although I haven't used Rollback, I do have passing familiarity with it as a long time member at Wilders'.

I emailed the company and asked them if it DISABLES TRIM and will see what they say Any feedback on this ROLLBACK Program? :p

I don't feel comfortable to ever use Rollback RX if it disables TRIM as I think TRIM is important for longevity and reliability of my SSD?

  10. I thought I'd chime in as I use Rollback Rx Pro on my computer, and the Home Edition on my girlfriend's PC.

Rollback isn't a perfect program as I'm sure you're aware of. The company touts it as an all-in-one recovery solution when in reality it will help you recover from things like viruses, malware, etc. If you had a hardware failiure or a corrupted bios then Rollback goes.

In terms of Rollback doing what it can do, it does it very well. I've had the program recover my system from Cryptolocker and a few other dangerous situations.

As long as you remember that it can't be your only recovery tool, then you'll be fine.

As for SSD's. I've had an SSD for years and Rollback has never negatively affected it. There's a slight perception problem as Rollback sort of just sanctions off a portion of your hard drive so in TRIM's eyes it sees that your drive has less space available then there really is. It's a preference thing if this bothers you but it doesn't bother me too much personally.

But if RollBack DISABLES TRIM, what will that do to the SSD eventually?

  12. I'm not 100% certain but I don't think it disables the trim. From what I know it works.

Any feedback on this ROLLBACK Program?

I received an email from Rollback RX company, this is what they said:

"RollBack Rx will redirect incoming TRIM commands to other sectors to ensure the integrity of the software, and the data, is not compromised until fully available. It does not disable TRIM."

What is everyone's thoughts on this?

Taken at face value, that sounds appropriate to me. However, I would also think one needs a means of knowing precisely how many sectors of an SSD are "in use" by Rollback on top of those in use (and as reported by ) Windows. I don't know if that means is conveniently available. I certainly wouldn't want Windows reporting the drive 30% full but find out that Rollback is using another 50%, significantly reducing the truly available sectors on the SSD to a level that may be problematic.

I think you'd need to ask yourself for what reason this would be useful for you.

Essentially it is doing a recovery by journal (and so tracking every change on disk) so that it can be rolled back to a specific point.

There might be some specific cases when this was useful (if you wanted to repeatedly try something, roll-back to exactly the same point and try it again.)

Some places I work we use something similar (on IBM i servers) but this for long running daily batch processes (that take 5h or more) so that in case of error you can roll-back just prior to an error and fix the database which (might) be quicker than restoring the backup you took before starting.

Even then, and forgetting about disk utilization, you have to think is the performance overhead worth it? It is about 10% on IBM i where it is built into the OS and changes are more efficiently stored per defined object or database table. It is this fast as the duplicate write (once to the journal and then the "actual" write) are expected and there is hardware to deal with it (you will have your journal and database on different controllers using different disk arrays).

For a PC, apart from in some very specific circumstances, I think no, it is not a good idea...
