  2. Issue when playing games

    Hello,

This issue when you're playing games can be due to incompatible driver since it can be resolved by updating the display driver. However, we would like to know more about your concern. Kindly provide us the needed information below:

    • Which device are you using in playing games?
    • Is this issue happening when you're playing online or offline games?
    • Is there a connected USB device?
    • Are you getting any error messages?

As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you try reinstalling the driver instead of updating it. Here's how:

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device.
    • Select Uninstall.
    • Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Looking forward to your response for any updates.

  3. Black Screen, GPU Fan 100% When Playing Games

    Hey all,

I have had an issue for the last few months, specifically when trying to play Rocket League, where between 5-20 minutes into playing, both of my monitors will go black and my GPU fan will kick to 100%. I can't remember if this coincided with any NVIDIA driver updates, but any subsequent updates have not helped. I am currently running the latest NVIDIA driver version (441.66).

Here are some of the troubleshooting steps that I have taken for this:

    • RAM
    • Ran Memtest64 overnight, ensuring that 100% RAM utilization. No errors were returned.
    • Reseated the RAM, blowing out the slots to ensure no blockages.
    • Tested different memory slots on the board.
    • Swapped out RAM with new RAM from Microcenter, no improvements.
    • RAM was originally OC'd to 3200 MHz via XMP. I turned this off and the RAM is running at stock speeds listed above.
    • BIOS
    • Updated BIOS to the latest version
    • Performed a Clean Boot and attempted to play. Game still crashed out within the first match or so.
    • GPU
    • Updated all drivers
    • Updated drivers, including a complete DDU uninstall/reinstall.
    • Swapped power cables from the PSU
    • Moved GPU to lower PCI-E slot
    • Reseated the GPU, blowing out the slot after reseating
    • Deleted the video driver from Control Panel
    • Storage
    • Ran chkdsk with no errors
    • Ran defragmentation on the HDD and Trim on the SSDs
    • Ran sfc /scannow with no issues
    • Game Files
    • Ran validator on game files (as a note here, after one crash, I ran the validator and it corrected one file. However, I played a game immediately after and crashed. Running the validator after that crash had no files fixed)
    • Installed the game on all three storage devices

I have attached the BSOD logs. Please assist!

  4. Any game I play this lighting glitch happens. It is not an issue with my gpu as I just...

Game screen freezes, goes to standby after a few seconds. Sound keeps playing

I have an issue on my gaming machine with two games: When I play the game for a while, the graphics will just freeze to a still image. Then after a few seconds the monitor does not receive a signal any more and goes to sleep. At the same time the sound is playing just fine. The machine does not react to any keyboard or mouse inputs. Pressing the power button does not start a shut-down of the system as it usually does.

This puzzles me a bit as it sometimes happens soon after booting the machine from a cold state. On other occasions it happens after a while playing. The case definitively gets warm. The GPU is cooled with two fans, the CPU fan blows away from the GPU. There are two case fans up front, one in the back. GPU-Z tells me that the GPU temperature is in a reasonable range.

    The system in question:

    • OS: Windows 10 Professional
    • Games:
      • Project CARS (via Steam)
      • ARK: Survival Evolved (via Steam)
    • GPU: AMD Radeon R9 380 (manufactured by HIS, latest AMD driver)
    • CPU: AMD FX-8320
    • Screens:
      • Dell P2314H via DVI-D
      • (a different) Dell P2314H via DisplayPort
    • Power Supply: Seasonic G Series with 550 Watt, should be able to support the whole thing just fine.

My guesses are: Heat, power supply, or software glitch.

Especially “ARK” is an early access game, it runs less smooth than any other game of the same graphics quality. While this happened with ARK only, I did not think of it too much, it is probably just that game. Now with “Project CARS” crashing as well, I am annoyed (I want to play that game!) and worried that there is a general problem with my system. ARK is very demanding as the graphics engine does not seem to be very optimized. So it puts a heavy load on the machine. “Project CARS” is set to maximum detail, perhaps that is a problem. I will test that next.

Heat should not be an issue as it just happened rather quickly. Same with power consumption which is basically the cause for heat. I can play “Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” on three 1920×1080 screens on “High” and the system is rock solid. Other games maxing out the system never crashed either.

What could be the reason for this weird crash?
