I have a 1Gbit Internet connectivity with 100Mbit/s upload and 1000Mbit/s download. It happens that when I open any game on Windows also happen to me with Davinci Resolve video editing software, when after I close it the speed is resumed, and that software that use any bandwidth, suddenly the download and upload bandwidth are reduced to 10Mbit/s download and 0.05 Mbit/s upload tested using Speed Test.I checked the Resource monitor and the highest network activity is consuming just a total of 5,321 bytes per second.I checked the game itself and it uses a total of 600 bytes/sec.Again, the mom

  2. Is there any way to hog my wifi bandwidth on purpose?

    Hi,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

I would like to inform you that there is not option in Windows 10 to hog the Wi-Fi bandwidth.

I suggest you to contact the manufacture of the Wi-Fi router for any settings related to limit the usage of wifi bandwidth.

Please get back to us with an update on Windows 10, we will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

Windows 10 - Delivery Optimization hogging bandwidth

This "solution" did not solve my problem. In my computer (Win10 Home) the culprit was not the Windows Update itself but caused but the app update from the Windows Store. I have installed Win10, both Home and Pro version on at least 5 computers since the
release and I always made sure the "Updates from more than one place" is switched off however this WUDO thing keeps hogging the bandwidth for itself and ignores the active hour setting. I took me until a few days ago
to realize it was not Windows Update after all but actually an app (game) that I installed recently from Windows Store was updating itself. So I tried these steps:

    • Open Windows Store app
    • Go to Settings (click you profile picture to access the menu)
    • Switch off the "Update apps automatically"
It solved my problem for now but this is just a workaround and you will have to update Windows Store apps manually from here on. Until Microsuck learn to honor the "Updates from more than one place" setting is already
switched off then this is the only way to do it, or you can get the bandwidth control software such as NetLimiter or NetBalancer to control the background download speed (sadly none of them are free though).

Windows 10 hogs all available bandwidth

    Hello Sinister-Verdicus

Actually, I really like OneDrive (and have something like 10T of storage alotment -- not sure how!)

My problem with OneDrive hogging bandwidth was only during the initial stages when I added all of my music files to OneDrive -- hey, with 10T to play with why not! So it took about a week of shutting OneDrive down (i.e. fighting with it) when I needed the
bandwidth for other things, but once these files were loaded, everything since has been quite fine.

As mentioned earlier, I did have a very large Outlook archive file that I had to move out of OneDrive because OneDrive wanted to upload the file all over again (all 7GB of it) every time I closed Outlook -- gobbing bandwidth when it did.

One of the replies from an MS techie suggested that there are settings that can limit OneDrive's bandwidth usage. But I forget how ... sorry.

So I'd encourage you to try OneDrive again -- and just grin and bear the initial uploading. I too love Windows 10 and love OneDrive as well ...
