Windows 10: Any Method for fixing slow login due to App Readiness?

A couple of days ago my local account on my HP laptop(20H2 Windows Version) started taking 5 to 10 mins to log in and in the mean time it would show a black screen with a cursor. I then found out this is due to the App Readiness service on boot up and disabling this would cause everything to go back to normal. However I would rather it stay on as it was working fine before and I was just wondering was there any fix for this? I have downloaded all the login fixes that HP have uploaded but none of these ended up working and I have made sure that my App Readiness service is set to manual only. This is quite a frustrating issue as the other local accounts on this machine work just fine and it seems that only my account is affected. Is there any known solution apart from the fixes provided by HP and turning off App Readiness?

App Readiness

Hi, I work in a school and have gone over to Windows 10. Logon was very slow and found out that uninstalling all apps and disabling app readiness seemed to more than half the login times
which is great at the moment, the problem we have now is that windows updates fail due to app readiness being disabled. Is there a workaround for this issue? App readiness adds a minimum of 60 seconds to log in times. Thanks in advance

 

Windows 10 Very Slow Login

Hi Arul,

What's with the slow login and unlocking in Windows 10? We're still suffering with the issue, we're using high end PCs, overclocked ones with SSDs and paid that much for speed, and Windows 10 comes to slow down our machines?!

Please raise this issue to higher level management or someone who can take a real step in fixing the issue ASAP.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
